Multiple Fires in MD over weekend
Fire departments from Claresholm and Granum responded to a bale stack on fire about one mile west and a half mile south of Claresholm by the old dump road on Friday night, Sept. 4, at about 8:30 p.m. A total of 17 firefighters responded with six fire engines.

Lost Hunting Backpack
On September 01 around 1100 hrs a camo ALPS backpack was inadvertently left along the side of the East Sharples road in the Porcupine Hills, west of Claresholm, AB. The backpack contained hunting licence and tags, an Under Armour camo jacket, Redhead camo hoodie, a Montana Elk Decoy, two pairs of gloves, knives and saws, flashlight / headlamp and a small survival kit. Back to school
Before students started going back to school on Sept. 1, West Meadow Elementary School held an open house on Friday, Aug. 28, where students could find out who their teacher is, check class lists, and drop off their schools supplies. Precautions to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus were in effect.
